Chickpea and artichoke heart stew

Tonight I made a recipe we hadn't had for awhile. This is the Chickpea and Artichoke Heart Stew from The Moosewood Cooks at Home cookbook. I usually cook this on the stovetop but today I dumped it all in the crockpot (I didn't even brown the onions and garlic). It tasted pretty much the same and was certainly easy to put together.

We also had broccoli stir-fried with dark soy sauce and a shot of sesame oil - then sprinkled with gomasio. Broccoli isn't one of my favorite vegetables but I try to get it into our diet as much as possible. I really like this with the dark soy sauce!

Hi Nancy. I found your blog via a little vegan's blog. I am also an mom to two teens and post on a vegan food blog. Your food here is looking prety tastey! I'll have to scrool down and see what else you have had cooking. Nice to "meet" your food ;-)

Hi Dori - thanks for stopping by! We're on spring break - down in Laguna Beach (the *real OC* ;-)).

Hey Kaivegan - nice to see you back! Let me know if you try anything good from the WFM book. I'll have more pictures when we get back from spring break :-)

I have come here to gaze at this beautiful warm dish twice..and yet this is my first comment, which I had forgotten to leave. I look forward to seeing more, as usual.
