Our time in Innsbruck has been great. There was much more to see than we had expected and we loved everything we saw. I've continued to have trouble with my phone and my photos so this won't have much documentation.Â
We've been to several museums and walked all over the place. They have several really good museums - they use a lot of immersive video and graphics that make the subject matter come to life. We are both looking forward to finding a good documentary about Maximilian.Â
Today we took a tram about 30 minutes away from our hotel and then took a cable car up the mountain. My fear of heights hasn't gotten better with age so I was a bit worried about the ride up but I did okay. It helped that we were the only ones in our "car." There was so much going on - people on bikes, families on three wheel mountain carts, hikers - you name it, they were there. It was absolutely beautiful and so nice to see people out on the trails. Everywhere we looked on the way up and the way down there were people out enjoying the mountains and the weather. It was wonderful.
It helped that there was a spot at the top to have a drink or a bite to eat.Â
Tomorrow we board the train for the last time with all this luggage. We arrive in Bologna in the afternoon. It's hard to believe the time is here. We left Vancouver 6 weeks ago today. The train parts haven't been as hard as I'd feared and the vacation parts have been better than I could have hoped. I'll post updates soon!
