The weather was perfect today - couldn't have asked for anything better. We started the day by seeking out a place to get Turkish food. Babac had done the searching and we settled on a restaurant. It took us past the train station, past a questionable park but then suddenly we were in another world. Storefronts loaded with produce and a kebab place every other shop. We found the one we were looking for and headed in - it was a little early so only a few people. The first guy who came to take our order didn't speak English (the first we've encountered) and he sent a young woman over to help us. The menu was in Turkish and translated to German. We took a stab and ordered a salad and a kebab plate to share. She brought the first round and said "this is extra" and set down two salads, bread, a spicy eggplant dish and a yogurt sauce. Then the kebab came out. It was all so good. She also brought us tea at the end.
From there we walked back to the train station to do a little reconnaissance for our train to Berlin tomorrow. We are traveling with more bags than we ever do and I'm already dreading getting up and down stairs. We at least found an escalator that goes down to our platform so we will just allow plenty of time.
From there we headed to the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe (arts and design). There were several good exhibits
Probably the most charming was one on Sesamstraße. A history of the show in Germany.
I think I'll have to do a separate post on the museum we went to in the afternoon because it was just so fun.
